The 2011 Oregon National Guard Hoopla has arrived, and tips off this weekend with a Free Kids Clinic presented by Drs. Howerton, Hopkin & Kennedy at 10:00 am on Court Street at the State Capitol.  No pre-registration is required; families interested need only to bring their kids of basketball-relevant ages down to Court Street near the capitol and enjoy the clinic.

Team registration also commences today at noon, and the West Coast Bank 3-Point Shoot qualifying rounds also begin at 1:00 pm.  For a full schedule of events, please go to:

Team registration for the 2011 Oregon National Guard Hoopla officially has closed...and we are delighted to report that this year will be the largest Hoopla ever!

There are limited opportunities to get into Hoopla and field a team this year.  To round out a few of our brackets that have uneven teams, we may take one team in each of the following brackets:

* Men's 40 & Over

* 15 & Under Girls

* 13 & Under Boys

* 11 & Under Boys

* 11 & Under Girls

* 10 & Under Girls

* 9 & Under Girls

* 8 & Under Boys

If you would like to register a team for one of these spots, please call 503-559-1131 as soon as possible.  In some cases, teams already involved could "play up" to snag one of these spots, too (i.e., a team already signed up in the 13U Girls wants to also play in the 15U Girls).

Either way, we will fill these final team slots quickly, and we need you to call immediately if you have any interest.

Due to great and popular demand, the Hoopla Registration Deadline has been extended to this Thursday, July 14 at midnight.

There will be no further registration extensions in 2011...which looks to be the biggest Hoopla yet.
